Where it all Began
BAQETTE got its start in early 2012, when Quinn Mcilhargey-Nicholson began playing with the potential of leather scraps from her uncle's furniture company, Cumberland Furniture, and realized the opportunities at her fingertips.
From Side Hustle to Full-time
BAQETTE officially launched in 2017 as a side hustle and kept evolving until Quinn finally took the leap to lean into the business full-time at the end of 2022. Although Baqette was imagined in Grand Rapids, Michigan, we now reside in the Queen City, Cincinnati.
Made by Hand, Made to Last
BAQETTE aims to create meaningful leather pieces that add value to your everyday life. Because most of our leather is upcycled, quantities are limited and color varieties are always changing, which is part of the fun. Each item is handmade from start to finish in our Cincinnati studio by a very small and talented team.
Beyond The Studio
Outside the studio, Quinn is raising two little girls, a big sister & a little sister (sound familiar?). A lot of Baqette happens between nap times and bedtime and she wouldn't trade it. She loves community, beauty in all places, a good dinner out + good wine, and of course, a Baqette.
